This blogging questionnaire celebrates Three Weeks for Dreamwidth (April 25-May 15). See the questionnaire introduction post.
Do you ever go back to reread older entries on your blog, or other blogs? Do you get or give comments on older entries? What kind of posts do you put in your Memories?
I frequently reread my older entries, and link to them. This is because a lot of what I write is so I won't have to re-answer the same questions over and over. Occasionally I read older entries on other blogs.
I routinely get comments on my older entries. This is because some are reference materials, and some are literature. I have a handful of fans who reread favorite series about once a year, and leave comments. I love hearing how rereadable my work is. Reading other people's stuff, I don't hesitate to leave comments on older entries. People like comments.
A majority of stuff in my Memories is How To content (163 entries), which I most often refer back to. I have lots of other categories, but I bet most of those are also in the How To file.

To say that I'm "building up some memories"

Yay!
Date: 2023-05-09 06:46 pm (UTC)As for commenting on older works, check to see if a given blogger has mentioned a policy on that -- profile, sticky page(s), or transformative works statement are typical places to look. I've only seen a few people who dislike comments on older works; most love all the feedback they can get.
Some commenters like to comment on a current post before an older one, and/or let the blogger know why they are commenting on an older piece -- if it's a reread, a recommendation in a community, etc. Most writers love recs, so hearing about that tends to be exciting. Plus "I found you from X" is helpful to know and provides more context.
Most of the older-work comments I get are rereads from my fans, but occasionally someone new pops up from a rec.
