This blogging questionnaire celebrates Three Weeks for Dreamwidth (April 25-May 15). See the questionnaire introduction post.
What types or topics of posts get the most enthusiastic responses from your readership? What do you think makes those so engaging?
The Poetry Fishbowl is a reliable source of activity, though the level varies. Sometimes my fans get into a lot of crosstalk with each other, sometimes not. Polls usually do well too.
My readers also like thinky posts. Sometimes I'll post just a link and people will get to talking about it. If I do a whole analysis, that usually gets comments.
I have several recurring posts designed to encourage interaction too. Currently those include the Wednesday rotation (Good News, Hard Things, Cuddle Party), Thursday Hobbies, and Saturday Philosophical Questions. With these I think the appeal is giving people a place to share what's going on with them or chat about interesting topics.
